The U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services has announced that the new U.S. Passport Card may be used for employment eligibility verification process of the I-9 Form.
The Passport Card is considered a "List A" document that may be presented as employment eligibility verification process to show identity and work authorized status when completing the I-9 Form.
The new Passport Card is less expensive and a more portable alternative to the traditional Passport Book. The new Passport Card is valid for travel to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda (but may not be used for international air travel). The traditional Passport Book must be used for any international air travel.
